Welcome to the Uysal-Walker Archive of Turkish Oral Narrative (commonly referred to as ATON). ATON's holdings are located within the University Archives of the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas.

Materials within the Uysal-Walker Archive of Turkish Oral Narrative (ATON) were collected by Professors Ahmet E. Uysal and Warren Walker and Barbara Walker, wife of Dr. Walker. These are the fruits of labor expended by the three original founders since 1961.

The narratives of the 2,007 Turkish folktales were translated by native Turkish speakers (mostly students), paid for and the resultant texts edited by Dr. Warren Walker and Mrs. Walker. The narratives have been digitized, as well as some guides to the narratives created by the Walkers. All these texts can be viewed in PDF format at https://swco-ir.tdl.org/handle/10605/355119.

The Archive of the Turkish Oral Narrative (ATON) is now part of the University Archives of Texas Tech University.
